sparrowhawk27 Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Hi All, In the process of setting up a new office. Currently we have a server based email system which we will be doing away with. I'd like a bit of advice is possible on what I need to do in order to have a domain based email account hosted online. Here's my ideal scenario - hopefully someone can tell me all this is possible! 1) Register Domain name (any suggestions as companies to go with welcome, looking at 'Fasthosts' at the moment) 2) Purchase online email hosting using 123mail (again suggestions welcome) 3) Install Outlook on our office computer 4) Configure account using these details 5) Success! I'm sure it's not that simple though. Any suggestions, or alternatives welcome. Thanks Admins - please move if I've posted this in the wrong place. Quote
RandyL Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 It could be even easier. GoDaddy is a domain registar that offers web hosting or email hosting too. Not only is the price better but you get more storage. It is ad free. $3.49 for unlimited. 10 addresses Unlimited storage Mobile access for smartphones, iPhone®, Blackberry® and Android™ Choices for emails that work with Outlook are POP3 and IMAP. If you are going to set it up on more then one computer or want to access it via the web at the same time you should use the IMAP option. I'm not saying it is the best solution for your business but it is an option if it fits your needs. Check out the link and have a look. Quote We are all members helping other members. sparrowhawk27 Posted January 3, 2013 Author Posted January 3, 2013 Thanks for that. They seem to tick all the boxes. Seems my four step plan is possible after all! Quote
