tomrose Posted January 2, 2013 Author Posted January 2, 2013 hmm. I could do the run as administrator on safe mode, and it said it found and solved some problems, but when I rebooted back on to normal mode, the problem persisted. Quote
KenB Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Hi Not done yet. Go back to the Command Prompt and type ......... chkdsk /f ......ENTER ( space after chkdsk ) This will check the integrity of the drive and attempt to fix any errors. Check the system again. Run sfc /scannow again if necessary. Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test

KenB Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Hi System File Scan should have repaired Explorer - if in fact Explorer is the problem. Take a look here click here Download ShellExView and install. Sort the Shell Extensions by Type - this will save you time. You are working - initially - with non-Microsoft stuff. Use method 2 I am not on my Vista machine at the moment but will d/l this to it if you have any problems.
