slab288 Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Hi guys, Looking to upgrade from 4GB Ram to 8GB. Wondering if anyone can tell me if the HP G56-105SA laptop uses only matched pairs or can it take a single 8GB card? And is there any benefits with either/or?........just curious! Thanks slab288 PS by way of info it was originally only 2GB Ram but has been upgraded to the current 4GB (one card). Quote

KenB Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 matched pairs or can it take a single 8GB card? Use the scanner provided by Armageddon it will give you a lot of relevant informationJust for info: If you are adding 8GB I would advise 2 x 4GB rather than 1 8GB module. The reason is that if one goes wrong you can at least pull out one and run off the other. From what I can find - the motherboard will support up to 8GB DDR3 memory. slab288 Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 Thanks for the replies guys helpful again , it's 8gb in 2 slots shown in the results of the scan via the link above and 2 x 4 it is and would have been even if it could accept a single for the very sensible reason given by Ken. Thanks again slab288 Quote
