How much is my laptop worth?

Hi im from the UK and I was just wondering how much you think my laptop is worth?

 

Here is some basic info:

 

HP Pavilion DV6 - Windows 7

Processor - AMD Phenom II N930 Quad-Core Processor (2GHz)

Graphics - AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250

Screen - 15.2" (or something close)

RAM - 6GB

System Type - 64-bit

Hard Drive - 500GB

What it is worth is basically what somebody is prepared to pay for it.

 

You don't say what you originally paid.

 

You have to realise that it is used - and many people do not want a used item.

You don't say how old it is - I am guessing about 2 years old.

 

You also don't say if you have re-installed the OS and wiped all of your data.

 

If it is HP - I suspect that it doesn't come with a full installation disk.

 

I have just bought a similar spec laptop ( different make )

Based on the price I paid I doubt that you would get much more than £100 - £125 for yours.

I sold a similar laptop (according to specifications listed) for £270, this was about 6 months ago.

I refurbished it myself so it was put back to "as new" with no signs of use, nothing to show it was previously used.

As Windows 8 has been released prices for W7 machines has dropped.

 

If your laptop shows sign of use then I will agree with Ken.

If it can be returned to as new and refurbished then you may be able get more, perhaps £150 -£170
