dj92 Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Hi guys, Just joined in the hope that someone out there can help me please. I bought an Evesham 3000 Blue Beast computer a couple of days ago. The HDD has been removed and I put in a formatted 120Gb drive to use it but I cannot get the PC to boot from the menu. I set it to boot from CD but nothing happens. I am trying to install W7 Ultimate which I have in another pc and it works fine, slow but fine. It has an Intel 865PE chipset, 512 ram and 3 GHz P4 processor. Last night I tried , once again, to boot up and finished up with an error message that said 'Cannot boot from CD-Error Code 5'. Does this mean anything to any of you out there please. I just want to get the computer up and running as my old PC is getting really slow suddenly and I need something I can rely on. Any help will be gratefully received and if you need any more information then just ask. Here's hoping, Regards, Derek. Quote
Plastic Nev Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Hi, Welcome to Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help. A couple of things, I assume this is a second hand computer seeing it has no HDD and therefore there may be a chance the CD/DVD drive isn't working, hence the error code. The next thing is this version of Windows 7 you want to install, what type of disk is it on and what do you know about the license for it? If a single use only, reinstalling it to a different computer will be breaking license terms. Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. Register here. Starbuck Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 With only 512mb ram you'd be very lucky to get a response out of Win7. Quote Member of:UNITE
KenB Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Win 7 system requirements: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit) 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit) DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver You STILL cannot have the same OS on two systems unless you have a multi-license that came with the original disk.
