kareny Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Hi, new to this forum so forgive me if I don't speak in "computor speak" but really trying to find a soloution and as of yet, can't find anything on the internet :( My google toolbar was really playing up- everytime I entered a search, it would crash or take ages to respond. If I found a webpage via the eventual response, that would also take ages to respond. I therfore uninstalled the toolbar hoping that when I reinstalled, the problem would be fixed.... I was wrong!. The toolbar will not install and keeps stating that there is an error 0x80040504 I wouldn't ordinally be bothered about a toolbar however I do alot of competitions, therefore it is handy to have in order to cut and paste questions and answers! There are no answers on google so wondering if anyone can help thanks karen Quote
RandyL Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Try this. Be warned that all IE add-ons will be uninstalled. Uninstall the google toolbar by going to Programs and Features in Control Panel. Go to Internet Options in Control Panel or Internet Options by selecting Tools in the IE toolbar. Click Reset and follow any prompts such as Apply or OK. Restart IE or reboot and restart IE.
