joddle Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Today I got a message saying Messenger is to be dropped - but I use Messenger to help my elderly parents keep their PC updated etc using the remote accesss option. Now I have been told to use Skype instead but it does not have that facility. Is there another way I can access my parents PC and control it for them remotely - its a bit too far to travel to see them every time they have an issue and the remote access factility has been a real boon. Help!!! Quote
Vr5fx Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I've only tried doing remote desktop once before, from my mobile phone to my PC. So I don't have much experience with it. joddle Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 Hi the one I use a hell of a lot is Teamviewer , I find it quicker that MSN's remote assistance software , you'd need it both yours and your parents pc You ae right - its pretty brilliant - never heard of it before but tried it last night between two of my own PCs - does exactly what I want. Now to get it installed on my parents PC so they can become viable to me - is having it installed better than simply accessing the link? I dont want to confuse them and so wish to keep it as simple as possible. Quote
Armageddon Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Yeah I'd install it saves having to run it via browser every time Quote Google is your friend We are all members helping other members.
