Hi... I got given a PC that had a Sata H/D ... it was running on Win 7..

Then i found out the Win 7 was an illegal version, so seeing as i owned a Genuine version of XP, i purchased a 2nd hand IDE H/D from shop and unplugged the Sata, plugged in the IDE H/D and i am up and running...

And now my question... !!!

I wanted to format the Sata so as to use as an extra H/D, but when i install it, my PC is not recognizing it at all....so i cant format it... ?

What am i doing wrong / not doing right..??

Thanks in advance for any help

Hi

Does the Sata drive show up in the BIOS?

In Windows XP, when you right click on "My Computer" and select "Manage" and go to "Disk Management", is the drive listed there?
