Hello guys,

CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9 this code is for a Corsair 4gb RAM memory card, the question is.......is it Mac specific or does it also work with Windows systems? The reason I ask is there appears to be conflicting opinions on the net, I have also just bought them.

Cheers

Hi, not too sure where the Mac idea comes from, but as a direct result from Corsair themselves, they say it is guaranteed to work on Intel or AMD, that to me means any operating systems, Windows, Mac, Linux or any other, shouldn't make any difference.

Have a look at their own specifications for it here=

Hi

From the specs I read this would work OK in a PC.

Is this what you have?

I am not a Mac user - but I am fairly sure that RAM is compatible in both PCs and MACs.

EDIT - beat me to it Nev :)

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

Nev the Mac thing comes from it being suggested that Corsair memory for the Mac has a code starting with a "C" and Windows memory has a code starting with a "V".........been looking for the sites that mentioned it, I've looked at sooooo many my heads bursting and can't find it mentioned anywhere now, typical eh LOL!!............sooooo when all else fails I just pop along and ask those in the know, as you do eh!!

Thanks again gents it's much appreciated, another one SOLVED :)

Well, I have just installed the new Corsair 8gb (2 x 4gb) RAM and run the Crucial Scan again at the minute it is only seeing 4gb, I assume that is because one of them has not been pushed all the way home yes?

Hi guys..........forget the previous post it does appear that it was simply one of the cards was not fully pushed home, have rectified same and we now have 8gb as seen by the Crucial Scanner, so all is good and looking good aswell :p

Thanks again
