This is the socket type ..........where the Central Processor chip fits. Not all CPUs will fit all boards - they are socket specific. This is an old motherboard - if you are looking to replace it you may have some difficulty. What problems are you having with the system ? So, yes your CPU will run in the V2 board. Quote
Synapse Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I guess it depends what you want to spend, for a repair it may be worthwhile, if you fancy an upgrade you may get a used Core 2 Duo, board and memory for not much more on ebay. Also consider your Windows install, a different board will bring issues, and if you only have a recovery CD it wouldn't work any more (don't even know if it will on a V2 board), and Windows would need some work to get up and running. It could turn a bit tricky. Quote

It may work ok, I don't play games so I can't say. Offer a bit less and use the saved cash to buy a cheap video card if needed? Quote
