On boot up I have received a message from my McAfee firewall which is not unusual as the slightest change in everyday application etc prompts this kind of alert asking me if I wanted to allow access to the internet

however I do not recognise the application which had asked for access to the internet.

The warning window from the firewall retracted before I could deny access so I don't know if anything is amiss. the application is roc-jan2013_AV.exe I use AVG FREE so it might be to do with that but I thought AVG applications would have AVG and not just AV?

Anyway any advice please?

Thanks

Ray

Hello PEV

After a quick google search it did not find anything relating to that EXE file

If its under 32MB try uploading it to HERE and see if it flags it up as malware.

As Seedy21 says...... a google search comes up blank.

Although AV.exe is mostly identified as a threat.

Yes, by all means upload it to VirusTotal .... if you know the file path.

Try entering the file name into the search window and see if the little doggy finds it on your computer, the folder it is in may give more clues.

Thanks for the quick back up guys.

I can't find it and as I have done a full AV scan nothing has been detected I think all is OK.

Thanks again
