Field28 Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Recently I tried to log into my hotmail account. I have had this account for years. I am a writer and I have emailed myself many of my works for storage purposes. I tried to log in a few days ago and it wouldn't let me log on. So I clicked on "Can't access your account?" and then answered my secret question. I then changed my password. The next time I logged onto hotmail I forgot that I changed my password and used the old password. Then microsoft said for security reasons they would not let me log on. There was an option to send a security code to a mobile phone number. The issue here is that I have a new number and the sim for the old number has expired. So I went onto to fill a new account verification form. When I originally created this account I did not use my real name or postal code for security reasons. I did not want my details on the internet and I could not remember the initials I wrote in the name boxes. I do not think I wrote my own initials. Please can you help me? To be honest all I really care for that account is my writings. So much of my work is there and If I could just email those works to my gmail account then I would happily delete my account. Please can you help me. Quote
Helcaraxe Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Hi and welcome. Sorry to hear your having problems with your hotmail account. I had a similar problem a year ago when my account got hacked and i was trying to recover my account. Have you tried using an alternative email account to reset your password? I also recall a form i filled in where it asked if i could name some of the senders of emails that would of been in my inbox, can you use that as extra information to give them? RandyL Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Not much help from you guys though. Helcaraxe tried to help. Going through Microsofts procedures is the only thing you can do. We aren't going to help you hack into an account. You are the one who foolishly set up the account with fictitious information and failed to make a copy of the information. Also foolish to use any mail account or email client as a form of backup. Also when backing up one should have at least two backup methods. Foolish not to do so if you ask me. Not much help from you guys though. Even God can't save fools from themselves. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else.
