Microsoft launcher messed up my phone

I decided to use MS launcher to easily get the odd pic off my phone and onto my pc, big mistake. That night my phone reset itself and the sd card became unsupported, with all my photos and videos gone. More than a coincidence I would say, seein as I gave that stupid app permission to access them that day. Thought it might not be the end of the world as have google back up, but it only restored a small portion of all my pics and ones from a year ago were showing as taken last month. Can't recover the sd card, no idea what it's done to google, but I gave it all the permissions it asked for, and have now paid the price. I've read MS launcher has caused a lot of people a lot of trouble.
