Use of Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter in multiple display environment

I have a HP laptop with a docking station and 2 Display ports. I use Windows 10 Enterprise.

I use both my display ports with two monitors. Recently, I added a Big screen TV/display in my office. I connected the TV to my laptop (not the docking station) using a HDMI/C cable, and the TV was getting no signal. I removed the laptop from the docking station, and now I could get a display.

I want it all. Both my display screens, and the TV for presentations, and not having to remove from the docking station.

If I purchase the Wireless Display Adapter from Microsoft and install it on the Sharp TV, will I be able to project one of my two screens? Audio and Video? I understand that I would have to 'Connect' the adapter on Windows 10.

Since I also have a 15 pin VGA port on my docking station, perhaps I can just get a VGA-HDMI cable, as an alternate?

Just trying to make sure I spend the money wisely.
