usmanozzy786 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 So basically when I try to install windows XP on the new PC I brought, after it says "press any key to boot from cd" I press any key and from there I get blank screen nothing happens. What could the problem be? I have tried taking the CD out and put back in but same thing. Quote
KenB Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Hi Does the CD work OK if you put it in another machine ? Obviously don't go through the installation process. Boot the machine up then put in the CD. You should be able to see it if you click on "Computer" If you right click on the disk itself > Explore you should see the files that are on the disk. If you can get this far then the disk is probably OK. Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! usmanozzy786 Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 Yes the CD works I tried on my laptop and it does show files/folders when I explore it Quote
KenB Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Is the hard drive being recognised in the BIOS ? Basically - if the CD is OK then after that prompt "Press any Key" it should look for the hard drive. Have you checked the hard drive connections ?
