Timing out on certain sites in both Mozilla and Chrome

Hi,

I have a Technical Problem, can anyone advise please?

 

I am running a windows 7 computer on a virgin hub 30 Mb package, I also have two other computers

running from the same hub, 2 of these computers are connected to the hub by cable, the third a laptop via wireless.

 

Here's the problem, internet connection seems fine for normal use, but when I visit certain site in the browser " my own sites I might add" they time out, I rang GoDaddy Hosting thinking that the sites were down, but after some checking these sites seem to be running ok

it's just my computers/hub which is timing out.

 

I then rank Virgin help desk, who checked the speed, and said that there was no problems

but they did confirm that it was timing out on certain sites, one of which is http://www.travelllama.com.

 

They said that it could be an IP Blocker but could not explain how to resolve the problem.

 

Can anyone advise me on what steps I can take to resolve this problem?

 

Any help would be appreciated.

I have just clicked on the link you gave ...................and it timed out ! "The Web Page is Not Available"

If I Google Travelllama I get nothing.

 

Post a couple more links to problem sites.

I have several Hosting Packages with diff companies, it seems only the Godaddy sites are timing out. Although yesterday a friend in Austria could get the sites up.

None of the sites will open.

 

I have just tried to ping johnkleis.com and that timed out too.

 

Googled johnkleis.com and clicked on that link - timed out.

 

The problem could lie with the hosts if they are all on the same server.

Just spent considerable time on phone to godaddy, after them doing extensive checks, they reckon Virgin Media may have blocked my hosting Ip address, Are you using Virgin Media, as godaddy reckons anyone visiting my sites using virgin media won't get the sites up, but everyone else not using virgin media will,

 

I am about to ring virgin, will keep you updated.

Hi, Here an update... Not good so far.

 

ISP "Virgin Media" got me to do a tracert on http://www.johnkleis.com which stopped on trace 8 showing the fault was with godaddy, so Goddaddy refuses to accept its them and Virgin Media refuses its them either.

 

What I am now going to do, is bring down one site "www.travelllama.com" and redirect the domain name to Hostgator and then re-upload the site to Hostgator. If the site Travelllama can then be found I know that it is godaddy, if the site cannot still be found, then I know its Virgin Media.

 

I realise its a long winded way of finding out, but what must be done, must be done.

 

I will publish a full update when known, but this won't be until tomorrow as I will have to wait for the domain to propagate with Hostgator.

Hi, just for information, my ISP is Supanet, I tried the three links, the one you are moving is the one that failed, so assume it is because you are moving it, the other two, JohnKleis opened to a car Audio site bearing the JohnKleis name. The other site "This-could-be-your-site, opened to Towercom home, is that correct?

So I can access at least those two from my ISP, Ken is from memory I think on a Tiscali ISP, but not sure.

You are right Nev - it was bought out by Talk Talk ................with them still.

So it is not a Virgin Media problem.

 

Can now open Travelllama .............but not the other two ............strange ???

This IP Address is GoDaddy

 

The ping times out.

Windstream in the USA. All three working. I'll try again later.

Travellama is now working too. Present IP is 184.168.221.40 which also shows as GoDaddy, so it is still on that server/host.

ping checks also work as usual 4 sent 4 received on the other two which both show up as that 97.74.215.98 IP address.

If you are still having problems accessing those sites, please let us know.
