seedy21 Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Hello Lennie, Lets try this ..... To resolve this issue automatically, first delete the current Internet Explorer desktop icon. To do this, right-click the existing Internet Explorer desktop icon, and then click Delete. Then, click the following Fix this problem link and in the File Download dialog box, click Run. Follow the steps in the Show Internet Explorer Desktop Icon Wizard to create an Internet Explorer icon on your desktop. lennie Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 Probably if I new how to do it. lennie. Quote
KenB Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Hi Lennie seedy21 is not on-line at the moment so I will explain..... When the error message shows press CTRL + ALT + PrtSC ..............( this is the Print Screen button at the top ) Open Paint from Accessories. Paste in the Print Screen ( CTRL + V ) If the picture has a broad white border ( Paint background ) you may need to crop it to take the border off. File > Save As ....... Make sure the file type is .jpg You could save this to the desktop to make it easier to find. Come back here and click on Reply > Go Advanced ... ( bottom right ) Click on Manage Attachments ( scroll down the page a little ) Click Add Files > Select File ........ browse to your saved Print Screen file then click SAVE. You can then add the attachment to your next post. Seems a bit long - but it is more or less straight forward :) Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! lennie Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 Thanks for that. Being ignorant on these matters i will wait till my grandson comes home from school. ( What us oldens have to rely on) There is another problem arising from this on IE. The icons? on the tool bar are in most cases shaded. If I hover over any of them it tells me I am NOT SUBSCRIBED ?. If I Right click & open, that page will open, say, MSN. BUT. If I scroll the page it goes haywire and shoots all over the place, mostly back to the top on its own.??? Quote
lennie Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 We where about to apply Ken bs plan of action. My Grandson noticed that there was 3 different tool bars, one on top of the other?????. Amazon, AOL, MSN. Opened Add/ Remove. and removed two of them, leaving IE / MSN. Did a restart. Its all come back as it should. Dont ask me how or why. But many thanks to you both for patience and guidance. If the problem reappears i can come back. Lennie. Quote
