gloslad06 Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Can someone help. I have had to restore my computer today, as It would not boot properly. I have therefore lost everything. I have downloaded and run some restore file software, which can find photo etc, however I ideally want all my programs etc back aswell if poss. My computer only had a system restore date of today and no previous days, so I could not select these. I want to try and get as much back as possible, especially all my emails. Can anyone suggest anything? Please can you keep the instructions as simple as poss, as I do have a fairly good understanding of computers, but I am not a advanced user. I am using Windows XP home edition. Thanks.............. Quote
RandyL Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 If you ran System restore in normal mode you can go back to System Restore and undo the last restoration. If you ran System Restore in safemode that is not an option. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. KenB Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Hi and welcome to ExTS :) I have had to restore my computer today, as It would not boot properly. Are you saying that you used the recovery disks to restore the system to factory settings? If you are trying to recover files etc - do not save anything to the machine or download anything as this will over-write the files and make any recovery virtually impossible. You will be very lucky to get back all what you have lost. What is the "restore file software" that you have ?
