Hi, Ive just bought a motherboard/cpu bundle for my PC. Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 and processor is AMD Bulldozer FX-6100 Black Edition. RAM is 8Gb DDR3. The machine will not boot in Normal mode, I get the Windows XP startup screen and then the blue screen of death. It will start in Safe Mode and all my files and folders etc. are there. I decided that a new installation of my OS was in order so ran the XP CD from Safe mode and it installed som files before rebooting and bringing me to the screen that says Perss ENTER for a fresh install, R for recovery and F3 to EXIT. At this point my USB wirless keyboard stops working, I can't select anything and I'm stuck! I can't re-install Windows. The keyboard works fine in BIOS and safe mode. Legacy USB in enabled in BIOS and I've tried the USB for the keyboard in every port on the machine. I've got hold of an old PS/2 keyboard and will try that later today after work. I have also tried running the drivers DVD that came with the motherboard from safe mode and I get a popup window saying Open Handle Driver failure so I can't install them either! Any suggestions would be most welcome thanks.

That confuses me. You don't run an installation from within Windows.

Windows installation disks are bootable. You put in the first disk and reboot to start the installation.

Thanks for your suggestions guys, the Ps/2 keyboard allowed me to install windows and I'm now all good. It was a bit of a faff trying to format the C drive but somehow it did it in the end (although only after it decided it was corrupt!) Anyway, all systems go now. Thanks.
