Please download Malwarebytes' AntiMalware. Double click mbam-setup.exe to install the application. Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish. If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. Once the program has loaded, select Perform Full Scan, then click Scan. The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient. When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results. Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to restart. Restart if it tells you to. To speed the Drive up we can you Disk Defragmenter. Go to Start,All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and click on Disk Defragmenter. Select your Windows Drive (Normally C://) and Click Defragment Disk button. When finished, click on Close Quote “It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything.”― Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club http://www.geekstogo.com/downloads/unite_blue.png Need help with your computer problems? grandadfatboy Posted February 22, 2013 Author Posted February 22, 2013 Hi, Malwarebytes loaded and run. It took for ages to complete the scan, but no threats found. I already had a schedule in place to complete a weekly defrag, but I ran it again after removing several programmes that I no longer use. Anything else I should consider? ATB Pav Quote
KenB Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Hi Try taking one of the RAM modules out - leave the other. Boot up. If no better - swap them over and run on the other one. RAM will be located under a removable panel in the base of the machine.
