pc wont boot

Hi

 

I get to the advanced boot options menu and pc freezes on this screen. Cant select safe mode or start windows normally . It freezes about 4/5 seconds after this screen appears?

 

I replaced the fan this morning as it was making a terrible noise - noise has gone but now pc wont load. I tried removing the battery for a few seconds but still no luck

I assume this was working OK until you replaced the fan.

Was this the CPU fan?

If so, if you removed the heatsink - did you clean the old thermal paste off with rubbing alcohol and replace with an even thin layer ?

Did you try "Last Known Good Configuration" ?

 

Assume this is XP - do you have a full install CD ( not recovery disks ) ?

 

Also assume that this is a desktop machine ( not a laptop ) ?

 

Do you have anything on the hard drive that you need access to ?
