azza1988 Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Hey guys not sure if this is the right place to put this or not but its a gaming related question. I've just mounted my tv on my wall with my pc hooked upto it wich is all well and good as I can now use it while laid in bed, but whenever im playing on a game now the text is so small that I can barely read it and end up with a head ache from squinting at it. Would a bigger tv ( my currents 21") help with the problem? Quote
seedy21 Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Hello Azza1988 and Welcome to FPCH What is the game that you are having trouble reading? Hopefully we can just change the Screen Resolution of the Screen so that you can read it. azza1988 Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 Tje only games iv tried so far are The Old Republic and Total War Medieval 2. I've got my xbox hooked up to the tv too but I dont have a problem reading any of the text on the games. Quote
seedy21 Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Thank you for that information. Regarding using the PC, when you use it for Internet or Word Processing (if you do any of that on the machine) is the text readable??? seedy21 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Ok so its sounds like we need to change the screen resolution on Windows not just the Game. [h=3]To change your screen resolution[/h] Open Screen Resolution by clicking the Start button http://res2.windows.microsoft.com/resbox/en/windows%207/main/4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33_818.jpg, clicking Control Panel, and then, under Appearance and Personalization, clicking Adjust screen resolution. Click the drop-down list next to Resolution, move the slider to the resolution you want, and then click Apply. Click Keep to use the new resolution, or click Revert to go back to the previous resolution. azza1988 Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 I just gave that a whirl but I still got the same result. Iv been on Microsoft Word and I was able to read everything fine. Any other advice? Quote
seedy21 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 [h=3]To make the text on your screen larger or smaller[/h] Open Screen Resolution by clicking the Start button http://res2.windows.microsoft.com/resbox/en/windows%207/main/4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33_818.jpg, clicking Control Panel, and then, under Appearance and Personalization, clicking Adjust screen resolution. Choose one of the following: Smaller - 100% (default). This keeps text and other items at normal size. Medium - 125%. This sets text and other items to 125% of normal size. Larger - 150%. This sets text and other items to 150% of normal size. This option appears only if your monitor supports a resolution of at least 1200 x 900 pixels. [*] Click Apply. To see the change, close all of your programs and then log off of Windows. This change will take effect the next time you log on. seedy21 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Normally Games will use the current Screen Resolution I have a word and see if they is anything else we can try before replacing the monitor. KenB Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Not too sure that I can add anything here ....... You have a 21 inch TV - this isn't very big. How far are you from the screen when you are having trouble reading the text ? What is the make and model number of the TV ? azza1988 Posted March 8, 2013 Author Posted March 8, 2013 Its a technika im not sure of the model number an id say I was roughly 1 meter to 1.5 meters away. Quote
KenB Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Hi The specs for your TV are here click here They suggest that the resolution is 1366x768 Have you tried setting the computer resolution to that ? ( If it is an option ) To be honest - if everything else is OK viewed on screen except for the games - it looks like it could be a setting within the software. I am not a gamer so I have no ideas here. Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test
