Hey guys not sure if this is the right place to put this or not but its a gaming related question. I've just mounted my tv on my wall with my pc hooked upto it wich is all well and good as I can now use it while laid in bed, but whenever im playing on a game now the text is so small that I can barely read it and end up with a head ache from squinting at it.

Would a bigger tv ( my currents 21") help with the problem?

Hello Azza1988 and Welcome to FPCH

What is the game that you are having trouble reading?

Hopefully we can just change the Screen Resolution of the Screen so that you can read it.

Tje only games iv tried so far are The Old Republic and Total War Medieval 2.

Thank you for that information.

Regarding using the PC, when you use it for Internet or Word Processing (if you do any of that on the machine) is the text readable???

Ok so its sounds like we need to change the screen resolution on Windows not just the Game.

[h=3]To change your screen resolution[/h]

  • Open Screen Resolution by clicking the Start button http://res2.windows.microsoft.com/resbox/en/windows%207/main/4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33_818.jpg, clicking Control Panel, and then, under Appearance and Personalization, clicking Adjust screen resolution.
  • Click the drop-down list next to Resolution, move the slider to the resolution you want, and then click Apply.
  • Click Keep to use the new resolution, or click Revert to go back to the previous resolution.

[h=3]To make the text on your screen larger or smaller[/h]

  • Open Screen Resolution by clicking the Start button http://res2.windows.microsoft.com/resbox/en/windows%207/main/4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33_818.jpg, clicking Control Panel, and then, under Appearance and Personalization, clicking Adjust screen resolution.
  • Choose one of the following:

    • Smaller - 100% (default). This keeps text and other items at normal size.
    • Medium - 125%. This sets text and other items to 125% of normal size.
    • Larger - 150%. This sets text and other items to 150% of normal size. This option appears only if your monitor supports a resolution of at least 1200 x 900 pixels.

    [*] Click Apply.

To see the change, close all of your programs and then log off of Windows. This change will take effect the next time you log on.

Normally Games will use the current Screen Resolution

I have a word and see if they is anything else we can try before replacing the monitor.

Not too sure that I can add anything here .......

You have a 21 inch TV - this isn't very big.

How far are you from the screen when you are having trouble reading the text ?

What is the make and model number of the TV ?

Hi

The specs for your TV are here

They suggest that the resolution is 1366x768

Have you tried setting the computer resolution to that ? ( If it is an option )

To be honest - if everything else is OK viewed on screen except for the games - it looks like it could be a setting within the software.

I am not a gamer so I have no ideas here.
