I wasn't sure whether this was a browser or software issue. But here goes anyway. We are a very small business, with only 7 machines plus a server and Terminal server. We are currently downloading 20Gb and hitting websites at an alarming 250 hits per second but we have run a malware program, have Kaspersky running and also run virus scanners but to date we have been unable to track down what is causing these hits. The sonic wall has shown that specific websites are being hits thousands of times a minute. Has anyone else had this problem?

Does anyone have any ideas as to what is causing this? and how to stop it?

We've even had a (normally very competent) computer support company narrow down where this happening but they can't solve it either?!?!?

ANy thoughts or ideas would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi XSive and welcome to ExTS

I am sorry that you have had no replies yet - the problem is that very few ( if any ) here have experience of servers and related problems.

I am going back to my old place of work tomorrow - I will ask the IT guys there if they have any ideas.

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

Hi, my first thoughts are like yours that there is an odd infection somewhere on the system that has turned it into a web bot and is now in the command of some remote hacker, but finding where on the system is going to be difficult if indeed that is the problem.

Like KenB I also have friends in IT, so have sent an E Mail and invited comment from him as a just in case we need more help.
