leafheat Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I've had this computer for about a year, and it has been doing it from the very start. I jsut never got myself to try and fix it because it happens only once and a while. Sometimes if I'm browsing the internet the browser will crash, or if I am playing a game the game will crash. Doesn't matter what game i play, they all do it. I even blue screen every once in a while. Seems to happen at random occasions. I was told it might be a memory issue? I am at work right now so can't give exact specs of my computer. Will have to go home and look. Quote
Plastic Nev Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Hi and welcome to Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help. Once you get back to us with those details, which will be of great value for us to help further by the way, can you please download and install Speccy, once installed run it and run the computer for a while, then either take a screen shot of what Speccy shows for temperatures, or at least copy and paste the results here please. That will help us if there is a heat problem. Speccy from here= http://www.piriform.com/speccy Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. maynardvdm Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Hi Also run memtest to rule out RAM as the cause. You can find it here: http://www.memtest.org/ Quote We are all members helping other members. leafheat Posted March 8, 2013 Author Posted March 8, 2013 Thanks for the response. When I get home i will be sure to post you my specs. And last night I was looking up memtest but don't have a burner to make a cd to boot from. I can try booting from memory stick? But after some research I'm pretty sure its the memory itself. http://www.support.com/blog/post/how-identify-bad-memory-module-your-pc These symptoms describes my problems pretty well. I tried changing slots for the memory thinking maybe it was motherboard problem but still blue screened. I'm using 2 8gb ddr3. I think I'm just gonna have to buy some new ram =( what you guys think? and I'll still post my specs later Quote
maynardvdm Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Hi Try one module at a time. You can run memtest from a flash drive aslo. When you run memtest, it is also advised to use only one RAM module at a time. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else.
