If the 2Gb's work on their own (that is the computer starts with just 1 stick) but the new 4Gb does not then either the new memory is faulty or it is an incorrect type.

Run the scanner from Crucial to verify the type of memory you need but it appears you need DDR3 PC3-12800, DDR3 PC3-10600, DDR3 (non-ECC)

Hi

In addition to what Randy has suggested ...

Is your system 32 bit. ?

If it is - the maximum RAM that the system will recognise is 4 GB and it will probably only utilise about 3.5 GB of that.

( The other 0.5 GB could be allocated to on-board graphics )

If the 4GB module does not run by itself it probably need returning to the seller. ( see Randy's comment )

Regarding Drivers ...

Are you having a specific problem or do you just want to check that your drivers are up-to-date ?

I don't like using third-party software to locate drivers.

The up-to-date drivers for your machine are here:

click here

==========

To determine if you have 32 or 64 bit ....

Start > right click on "Computer" > click on properties.

==========

When you open the software that you are having problems with you get a message:

"The Publisher could not be Verified. Are you sure you want to run this software"

You should press "Run" .....not "Cancel" if you want to continue.

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
