When trying to print I have been getting the message 'black print cartridge not installed properly, remove and re install' which I have done repeatedly to no avail and also message 'there is a problem with black ink cartridge'

I have triend two seperate cartridges and I still get the same problem.

I have tried cleaning contacts etc as per HP trouble shooting guide. I have ordered new print cartridge which is my last option.

Any ideas please?

Ray

Hi Ray, I had a similar HP all in one printer that kept throwing up a similar message, I discovered the fault was the flexible ribbon cable that connects the print heads to the rest of the machine, the constant flexing had eventually cracked a conductor. I hope in your case it isn't that bad as the cable is not something I could find as a spare, and fitting would need special tools if I could.

I was forced into buying a new printer.

Please be aware it may be the same fault, though I hope in your case it is only a faulty cartridge.
