So my wifi is really weird! When I go upstairs I can connect my iPad, htc or xbox to it, get a good connection, but then nothing works on any of my devices. I have to keep turning the wifi off and then back on if I just want to refresh a web page, or go on an app that requires Internet connection. The connection with my pc is fine, but this is connected by Ethernet. My download speed varies from 3Mbps to about 7.5Mbps and upload is never higher than 1. My ping is also 36ms.

For it to happen on three separate items it is probably related to the wireless signal strength ... upstairs.

Does your HTC work normally when in close proximity to the wireless router?

Thanks for the reply.

It's the same even if only one of the devices is connected to the wifi. It's seems to be a bit better when I'm closer but not a lot.

Hi,

The connection is OK with ethernet cable - so, as Ray says, it is just the wireless side of the router.

It is affecting more than one device - again pointing back to the router.

1. What is the make and model number of the router please?

2. How old is it ?

3. Do you know how to change the channel in the router software?

I am thinking that it may be radio interference.

I have had problems like this before - it has turned out to be the router playing up and needing replacement.

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
