cbx78 Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Hi folks, First post, so go easy lol. My problem is that since hotmail transferred over to Outlook, I can now no longer view my emails on my work computer, which operates with Windows XP Professional 2002 Version. Just a blank page with error on page at bottom. Apologise if this has been posted before. Any thoughts would be much appreciated Quote
Plastic Nev Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Hi and welcome to Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help. Acouple of questions, the work computer with XP installed, do you know if it is running with service pack 3 installed? If it isn't it needs to be updated to that. Secondly, are you using Outlook Express on that machine? One thing I am not too sure about but you may have to upgrade that to Windows Live mail. Please wait for other answers on that because I am not sure about it though. For your Hotmail account as a temporary thing, you may be able to access it if you open the MSN page and log in from there with your Hotmail details, user name and password. ukbobboy Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Using XP with online Outlook Hi cbx78 I don't know if this will help because I do not use Hotmail or the online version of Outlook but my son does. I have a PC running WinXP SP3 and, as luck would have it, my son wanted to user my PC to catch up on his Hotmail emails. Anyway, like you he got an error message saying that he had to use the latest version of Internet Explorer, I use Opera as my default browser even though IE is installed on my PC. Anyway, my son closed Opera and opened IE, he had some initial problems and I believe he had to slightly update my IE browser but eventually he got to read his emails. So, consequently, I'm guessing that to use online Outlook, which is now the upgraded Hotmail, you must have the following minimum specs PC running WinXP SP3 Internet Explorer 8.0 As a former office worker, I am also guessing that your work PC is likely to be running WinXP SP3 but only IE6.0 or IE7.0 (in order to remain compatible with your legacy applications). Hope this helps. UK Bob Quote

Ray1000 Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 And if it's any consolation I'm using the same operating system (Windows XP Professional 2002 Version) and the change over to Outlook went smoothly. Ray Quote
