Hello all, i'm was hoping some one could shine a light on my problem here, i'm looking to run GW2 on say Medium settings during quests (or higher if possible) and my budget is £400. I've been looking around and i think these are the best systems i could find in my price range. Bear in mind i don't need a monitor and a OS is optional :)

The first one is from Ebay.co.uk - This shop has a few priced around £350-£400

The second is from Palicomp

http://www.palicomp.co.uk/gaming-pcs/amd-showdown.html

There's also this one but it's at my end budget line

If anyone has any either of suggestions please do tell :)

I would also like to upgrade in the future.

Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome to ExTS

I am not a gamer and you really should wait for one of our moderators / members who is able to advise you better.

However .....

The E-Bay link to the system for £397

I doubt if this was ever £737 with a HD7750 Video Card in. You can pick this card up for £80 !

It is a good card - but not a high-end gaming card in my opinion.

The HD6570 is worse. You can pick this up for £50.

Stay away from this one at £402 - I doubt it would cope with modern games.

HD6450 - £35

Again not a high-end gaming Video Card.

Based on the cards alone - it looks like the £397 system is the best of the three.

You really need one of our gaming experts to jump in here. :)

Hang on for one of the other guys to put their thoughts down :)

The system requirements for GW2 are here:

The HD7750 would cope well. You should get high / ultra settings.

Try the "Can I Run It" and put in the details.

I will, thanks for the help so far, i posted a similar post on the GW2 forums but all i got back was that it would cost at least £500 to run it on medium, which i thought had to be madness since a friend plays it on a laptop he purchased for £400 on these settings at 50-60fps

I'm at work at the moment, but I will pick this up later. :)

Hiya, and welcome to the forum.

The guys over at the GW2 are not far off. £500 will get you a PC that will run it on medium to high (self build)

Before you also posted that you would want to upgrade.... What exactly would you want to upgrade?

The listed PC's are "OK" at best, the top link, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vibox-Dynamo-AMD-Quad-Core-HD7750-Top-Gaming-PC-8GB-1TB-Super-Fast-Computer-/190829864226?pt=UK_Computing_DesktopPCs&hash=item2c6e58a522 Is probably the best of the group, but you'll get medium settings at best. The PSU will be cheap branded, as well as most parts fitted. As Ken said, this was probably never £737.

For £450 you can build your own PC, which would pretty much dominate the listed ones, but it would come down to what experience you have on PC building.

AMD FX 6100 @ 3.9Ghz / Asus M5A99X EVO 990X / G-Skill 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz RipjawsX / Zotac GeForce GTX 660 Ti / Corsair TX 750W V2 PSU / Antec Kuhler 620 / Win7 64 / NZXT Tempest 410 Elite / NZXT 6 channel fan controller / Kingston 240GB HyperX 3K SSD / 1TB HDD

In terms of upgrading i'd like to fit a better graphics card in the future. I have a little experience with fitting parts, only RAM and graphics card, i'll look into a custom built one a bit more before i make a purchase. Sorry for the the late reply, my laptop got infected with ransomware and it's proving a pain to get rid of :']

Thanks for the help!

What's mainly throwing me off while searching for one is my lack of understanding for the processor qaulity.

I've found this one though that seems alot better, still seriously considering building one myself, but knowing me i'd order the wrong part and it'll not be compatible :')

For about £30 more you could build something like this.

http://www.ebuyer.com/lists/list/168585

This is a list I have used on this forum before, but with a different CPU.

The only thing you need to change is getting 3 of the fans, (One in the front, side and back) and possibly a cable splitter for them, as well as some Sata cables.

Take a look at the list and see what you think.

Could probably even save a few £ by getting the parts from other retailers.

Thank you for the help, in the end i opted for a second hand one from a friend, it's roughly the same as the top Ebay link but slightly better in parts and worse (320 HDD eeek) but it runs the game on high at 40-50fps during combat so i'm more than happy :) And it only cost £280, Now check out my other post about Breaking bad :P
