Despite peforming a clean install of windows 7 Home Premium & formatting the drive in the process, I still seem to be part of a network, which I did not join. I have also discovered a second Administrator User account, which has access to folders & permissions that I am locked out of. The problem "Admin User Account" has changed many of my settings reducing my ability to respond effectively to 'take back' my PC & prevent this from reoccuring. How would I proceed without current access to relevent permissions to pertinent settings ? Thank You in advance.

Hi and welcome to ExTS

When you get to the user login screen does it look like this:

( Geek is the main user )

http://cdn.howtogeek.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/image8.png

If so the normally hidden "Administrator" account has been activated.

If not ............. please let us know what is there.

I just get a single Admin Icon

You don't have an account to log in ? ( or is this your named admin account )

I'm sorry - I can't read the detail on the attachments :(

I can see "Administrators ( J1PC \Users ) " highlighted in the bottom pic.

I assume that is you ?

In which case it is showing full control.

"Admin User Account" has changed many of my settings

How do you know that your settings were changed specifically by "Admin User Account" ?

If you go to Control Panel > Users

How many Admin accounts are shown ?

How many should there be ?

Thanks for spending time to look into this for me, It's appreciated.

I hope you can read the "CMD" text. It shows a device called toredo tunneling pseudo interface. Since posting here, this device has suddenly switched off, and 'hey presto' only one administrator again and permissions have all but returned to normal. Please also note that the IP Address shown in these images is not mine.

Also on my Windows Explorer side pane and as shown above I am part of a network that I did not join & I do not have access to the account named "Millie". I get this dialogue box when I try to open it

Also on the next image in the shared folder in system tools at computer management these 3 folders are in accessable to me and were not created by me, and if possible I would like to unhook myself from any network server, remote desktop or any other uninvited software that can override my control.

Thanks again Jay.

Hi

"Tunnel Adapter" is not uncommon to be seen in IPconfig /all

It is linked with IPv6 and an IPv4 network.

If you have since disabled IPv6 then "Tunnel Adapter" will probably disappear.

192.168.1.6 is actually yours.

Well ..... it is allocated by the router to connected devices

Re "Millie"

Do you know anybody called "Millie" ?

I would like to unhook myself from any network server, remote desktop or any other uninvited software that can override my control.

If you still think that there is un-authorised access on your system I would suggest that you re-install Win7.

Ensure that you format and re-install not just a repair reinstall.

Hi, Considering you are connected to your router via wireless, I think it is possible a near neighbour is piggy backing on your wireless signal, if that is the case, first connect to the router by cable, then turn off the wireless in the router controls. I hope Millie vanishes when that is done.
