tranfering stuff from win 7 to win 8

i got a new acer aspire laptop a few days ago which has win 8. so far i really like it.

 

the win 7 hp laptop i have had for these past few years is full of my lovely stuff and settings, etc.

 

i have no idea if there is an easy way (or even a way), to get these from one machine to the other.

 

i wondered if there is a microsoft help section for this. i did search and could only find from vista to 7.

 

i also searched acer help pages and could find nothing relevant there either.

Hi inbuilt into both windows 7 and 8 is windows easy transfer , you'd need a data transfer cable about £5 from Amazon or Maplin plug one end into the win 7 laptop the other in the win8 one then using the win8 laptop select which settings files etc you want to transfer.
