Hello, well yesterday while i was using my computer, after i restarted i got a problem. It starts post screen and freezes. Not always on same place. Usualy, when i turn it on here goes beep, like always and then post screen. Sometimes it stop on detecting processor, sometimes ram or it does not show post screen at all.I tried everything, including reconecting hdd, processor, ram memory... but it wont change. If system req matters, here: intel pentium 2.80ghz 2x512mb kingston ram memory 400mhz (-256mb shared memory for integrated gpu) motherboard e210882. oh yeah, my computer usualy heats even after it got some coolers on it, yesterday i was playing "Half-Life 2 Episode Two" and i usualy got crash and blue screen on that game. Thats why i restarted. Snd one more thing, usualy while my computer worked when i start windows, and some game (for example counter strike source) i got good 60fps but after some time playing it starts loosing fps, thats probably because of overheating right? Hi and welcome to ExTS

Usualy, when i turn it on here goes beep

Is this just one BEEP? ( this is normal ) If not - let us know the sequence ...... ( one long 2 short for instance )

Can you boot up in Safe Mode ?

Switch on and tap F8 about once per second.

You will get an Advanced Startup list. Select Safe Mode from there.

Hi,

I suspect that this is a motherboard problem.

You should, at least, be able to access the BIOS.

Try taking the CMOS battery out for 1 minute then replace.

The + is on top.

This will reset the BIOS to defaults.

Let me know if this helps.

Haven't worked. it just showed logo instead of post screen (thats because bios settings restarted right?) and same as before. it just shuts down... :P oh yeah, its probably because integrated gpu always was hot, but if its not working there will be no picture... O.o Edited by Goxi

it just frezes and shuts down.

The next step is to strip down the motherboard of cards / RAM etc .

I know you get POST beep - but follow the process anyway.

Once you have the m/board stripped down - switch on and watch the fans / LEDs etc on the m/board.

They should remain stable.

If you don't get a "shut-down" then add the video card and connect up the monitor.

Switch on again.

Hopefully at this stage you will get something on screen.

If it shuts down here - it looks like a video problem ......and as it is integrated you may need to try a cheap video card.

Sorry for being offline so long...

I taked off ram and then turned on and i get 2 long beeeeeps after it shuts down again... i got ram back and it lasted a bit longer than earlier. hey but if you say that its problem with video card, i got some non working video card and when i connect it nothing shows on screen. monitor flashes like there is no signal. but if it is problem with integrated video card, why it shuts down again even with this card?? I taked off ram and then turned on

I suggested that you strip the motherboard down to just the 20(4) way connection from the PSU.

Did you do this or did you just take the RAM out ?
