KenB Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Hi Sorry for the relatively slow response. I have a DVI splitter but all I get is the same on both monitors Yes - this is what you will get. Basically you are taking the same signal and dividing it to two locations. Do I need a separate Graphics Take a look here - it should help. click here Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! ExTS Admin Starbuck Posted July 3, 2013 ExTS Admin Posted July 3, 2013 (edited) I have a DVI splitter but all I get is the same on both monitors Like Ken already said.... this is all you will get from using a splitter. If you want to run 2 monitors that can be used for different programs, like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v708/starbuck50/screenshot2_zps2b9fb8a3.png you will need a graphics card something like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v708/starbuck50/NVIDIA_GeForce_GT_220_1_zps70bb2ad6.jpg A graphics card with 2 or 3 outputs. (DVI & HDMI & VGA) Ken has more knowledge than i do in this area, but i'm sure that even with 3 outputs you can only run 2 different monitors. If you connect all 3, then one of the monitors will be reproduced. Edited July 4, 2013 by Starbuck Quote Member of:UNITE

Jelly Bean Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Splitters are a waste of time. The first thing you do when adding two monitors with a card that can take two monitors is update the graphic card software and hardware driver this usally kicks in the second monitor.Check within windows that you set up priority monitor and within the graphics card software.
