Could someone help me out with this ... I recently got a new Apple keyboard for my desktop PC and a couple of the keys give the wrong output compared to the icon printed on them.

Worst still the strike any key doesn’t work for the occasion it’s needed on start up.

I can’t make head nor tail of the AutoHotKey download and while the Keytweak I found reference to on here looks more promising I haven’t yet managed to get it to address keys that need the shift button.

The most noticeable problem is the ‘shift 2’ which is showing as @ produces a quotation mark and visa versa.

Thank you

Ray

Hum, first question is why an Apple keyboard when running windows? I don't know enough about the Apple system but it strikes me the keyboard will be manufactured and set up for the Apple Mac systems, not windows.

However, if I am wrong, the next place to look is Regions and language, your computer will most likely be set for UK English and the keyboard for UK. The Apple one you have may be the American layout.

Regions and Language are accessed from control panel, once the window opens select the keyboard tab, and you can change the layout to American there.

Thank you Nev,

I'll have a look at that ... the reason for having the keyboard ... my previous slimline one wasn't responding to the w and space keys and the Apple one is easily the best looking keyboard I've seen:)

Nev,

I was just about to write ... that has instantly solved the " and @ keys because I've just checked them in MS Word but as I'm typing on this page they are still the wrong way round.

At least now I can continue looking at the various settings.

Hi Ray, it may need a complete re-boot for all settings to work, There is also the fact that there are some keys differently named for Apple Macs, though may do a similar function on Windows.

This link may help you see the differences which hopefully will help you sort that out.
