trouble putting an article onto my website

Hi everyone, I need to put an article i have received to go onto a gardening website but I have not got word but a different one. It says I need word to put it on. Cost of around £100. Is there a way I can do this?

Hi Trickymicky and welcome to ExTS does the website your using specifically ask for word or that the file be in word format ? , which free office program are you using ? , also here is a link to a 30 day download of Office also Open Office which is totally free and is compatible with word documents and also allows you to save them in word format.

Just to add a bit .....

 

I use Open Office ( which is free as Armageddon says )

The default for saving documents is ODF ( .odt extension )

You would need to change this to the option that gives you a .doc extension.

 

This becomes much clearer when you click on "Save As" :)

Another good free office software is Kingsoft, which I prefer as it will handle Microsoft Works Word documents as well, however for any document created in Kingsoft, as usual click "save as", and a drop down menu will give you the same options to save as a Microsoft Word document.
