Hi i am just new to the forum and i dont know a great deal about computers and sorry if ive put this in the wrong section .But my queestion is ,i went onto my computer

just now and everything on my desktop has totaly changed all my icons have been moved around and also ive lost all my family pictures and music `everythings gone even the buttons at the top of my desktop ,like bookmarks and history buttons and the other ones `i havent a clue what has happened and dont know what to do so i would be very greatfull if anyone could let me know what has happened as i`m lost ,all that was on my desktop was a couple of icons that had been moved around and a toolbar called (my search dial) so if anyone could help me i would be realy greatfull as i say i dont know much about computers .

Hello and welcome.It appears to have been infected with a virus my search dial.

 

I will notify the secrity team and they will get back to you with a fix.

Hi my friend i havent a clue whats been going on with my pc but you seem to think its been infected with that toolbar but i got an update from firefox and when i clicked on it i was told that firefox would switch of and then on again ,so this i did and when it came back on my whole desktop was back again as if nothing had happened i dont understand what went wrong but i`ll take your word for it because i run my malware and pc cleaner "ccleaner" it said i had 5 intrusions so i got them deleted and all seems fine but thank you very much` much obligded for your help my friend all the best and great site .

Hiu Ter67 could you download the following please and post the logs on your next reply , this will remove toolbars and other adware from browsers.

 

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.

  • Close all open programs and internet browsers.
  • Double click on adwcleaner.exe to run the tool.
  • Click on the Delete button.
  • A logfile will automatically open after the scan has finished.
  • Please post the contents of that logfile with your next reply.
  • You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[s1].txt as well.
