KenB Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Hi take a look here - there is some useful info that you may ( or may not ) have seen before click here "Defaults Loaded" seems to imply that the BIOS is functioning OK .......... just back to default settings. When you get the error - can you boot up ? Did you change the battery for a new one? Often this message is linked to a dying battery. Were your date and time settings correct prior to the problem ? rizla_29 Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 Hi, thanks for your help. I can boot up after i choose 1 of the 2 option i get under the error message. cant remember the correct words but, press 1 to continue with default setting or press 2 to enter bios settings. I didnt get a new battery but just replaced it with a another 1, will need to get a new 1 soon. i can set the date and time in bios setting and restart the pc but get the message again when starting the pc again, so it happens every time i start the pc. I only use this pc as a media pc to watch movies and uplad music to my ipod. PC spec; Asus P5N-D intel 3.4ghz 4gb ddr2 nVidia Geforce 9600 gso 512mb Win.7 x64bit Thanks again for your help. Quote
Plastic Nev Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Hi, KenB may not get back soon as he is away from home, however if you are having to reset the time and date each time you boot up, then yes you need a new battery, it looks like the one you tried is also flat. KenB Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Hi my connection is intermittent ( not at home ) so may not be able to reply every day. As Nev says - try a new CMOS battery. They are quite common and you can pick one up in Halfords / Jewellers / some supermarkets too. It should be a CR3032 The + shows on top when assembled. You will need to set the date and time after replacing the old one. Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
