Hi

Dell Inspiron 6400 Windows XP

Problem:---Black screen, no power up, power adapter light flashing. Battery is fully charged. No lights anywhere on laptop, just Dead!

Removed battery and adapter lead, held down power on switch to drain charge etc, refitted battery pressed on, nothing.

Connected power adapter, also nothing, just warning light flashes on charger box when laptop connected.

Tried another spare adapter, still the same.

I have just replaced the motherboard 1 week ago for no charging, and no power up.

Has been OK... then this.

Can anyone help please?

John.

Hi John

Try taking the RAM modules out ( under a panel in the base )

Switch on.

It will not boot up - but you may get something on screen.

Try the modules one at a time.

Let us know the result.
