Plastic Nev Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Hi, can you tell us the make and model number of the motherboard, or if not sure the make and model of Computer. We can find out from that which graphics chip is on it. In fact, if you install Speccy from Piriform, that will tell you most of that, including the graphics. Download Speccy from here :- http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download/standard That will give you the download direct. Once we know the graphics and what it should support, we stand a better chance of being able to help. However, the most likely reason for the poor or wrong resolution may be a lack of Windows 7 drivers for the graphics, being an older board as you say, there may not be any available. As I say we will know more from whatever information you can give us. Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. Register here. Plastic Nev Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Sorry, but that isn't enough, they put lots of different boards in their machines, be best if you can install the speccy and let us have what it shows for the motherboard, especially what it says for the graphics. Plastic Nev Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Hi, thanks for that information, from what information I can find, it may not be possible as the model of Dell you have and the graphics chips are possibly too old for there to be relevant drivers. However, no harm in trying, as now I know it is definitely Intel you can try their website and try a driver update check, here :- http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect/graphics That site will definitely tell you if Windows 7 drivers are available or not. The other option may be to install a graphics card that will work both with the motherboard and Windows 7. Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help.
