InFerect Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Hello guys, So I've bought an wireless xbox360 controller, but once i unpacked it, my room-mate threw away the packaging, so I don't have any more info about it. Well anyway getting to the problem now, so basically it came with Net GEAR WPS transmitor(or however it's called :P) and cd for it, so I've installed and I got "NETGEAR WNA3100M Genie" out of it, then In downloaded and installed Microsoft controller software, and then connected controller to the pc. But it controller doesn't work for me... on the Devices and Printers it shows up as a "Xbox 360 Wireless Controller via Play & Charge Kit". Also the controller is showing me a green light from the controller, not from xbox button but from the usb-xbox controller cable.. but yet still it doesn't work... So what should I do to make it work guys :\ i'm kind of desperate now :L Quote
Vr5fx Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 In order for a wireless controller to work, you need the wireless adapter. These come in many shapes and forms, sometimes these wont install properly. But would come up with a message saying "Drive not installed properly" The play and charge kit won't work if your using a cable for the wireless controller. These cables only transfer power to charge the controller, no information is passed between controller and PC. The WNA3100M is a mini wireless dongle, so doesn't effect the controller. You either need a wired controller, or a wireless controller adapter. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Proxima-Direct%C2%AE-Wireless-Receiver-Controller/dp/B00D1CE75I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1380961256&sr=8-1&keywords=xbox+360+controller+wireless+adapter If you buy the above for it, it wont initially work like mine. Don't use the CD, check out the comments for installation help. -Vr Quote AMD FX 6100 @ 3.9Ghz / Asus M5A99X EVO 990X / G-Skill 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz RipjawsX / Zotac GeForce GTX 660 Ti / Corsair TX 750W V2 PSU / Antec Kuhler 620 / Win7 64 / NZXT Tempest 410 Elite / NZXT 6 channel fan controller / Kingston 240GB HyperX 3K SSD / 1TB HDD Intel Pentium G2020 2.90GHz / Gigabyte GA-Z77N-WIFI / Kingston 4GB DDR3 1600MHz HyperX Genesis / Corsair 430W CXM / Fractal Design Node 304 Mini ITX Case / 2TB WD Greenhttp://steamsignature.com/status/default/76561197986113115.png
RustyKnight Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 From what I could figure out you also need software that can actually "see" the controller. I bought a wired Xbox 360 controller to "try" to play Minecraft, I had to get a program that would translate the controller inputs to keys so that Minecraft would work. It does work but unfortunately the left joystick movement and trigger buttons are way to fast to be able to play Minecraft properly. I need to spend some time studying the settings to try and adjust the sensitivity.
