doominator Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Hi thanks for helping! Its time to upgrade my PC for gaming but I have no experience with this sort of thing (the PC was pre-built). This is my PC: http://www.meetgadget.com/gadget/143...ll+iPower+X3.0 my power supply is 450-500W I am looking at the Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 7870 Graphics Card shown here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-Radeon-Graphics-GDDR5-PCI-E/dp/B007PJVB3Y I just want to check to see if there will be any problems, eg Will it fit? Do i need a new power supply or not. If i do, can you recommend one? Quote
doominator Posted November 2, 2013 Author Posted November 2, 2013 Sapphire vs Asus Radeon HD 7870. Hello I'm having trouble deciding between two Radeon HD 7870 cards (Sapphire vs Asus). http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-7870-Radeon-DirectCU-Graphics/dp/B008A1C252/ref=sr_1_4?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1383367667&sr=1-4&keywords=Radeon+HD+7950 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-11199-19-20G-CrossFireX-Multi-GPU-Technology/dp/B00A1572FK/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1383368250&sr=1-2&keywords=Radeon+HD+7950 Both have similar prices so that isnt a problem. I am wondering whether or not one of them has any advantages over the other so i can decide which one to get and to find out if they will work with my PC: http://www.meetgadget.com/gadget/14380/Packard+Bell+iPower+X3.0 Thanks!:o Quote
doominator Posted November 2, 2013 Author Posted November 2, 2013 I will also need to change my power supply. Could anyone recommend a good one? Quote
KenB Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 I have merged your two threads as they are on the same subject. There is very little to choose between the three cards as they all use Radeon 7870 architecture. Just different manufacturers. From what I found the minimum wattage PSU is stated as being 500 Watts. I would recommend 650 Watts Decent PSU manufacturers OCZ / Thermaltake / Corsair / Antec One of the other moderators may wish to confirm what I have said above :) Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
