Help needed with iSight web cam.

Hi guys,

This is my first post, apart from the intro post, asking for help.

My problem is that I bought myself an iSight webcam. I plug the firewire cable into the computer at on end and the camera at the other.

It all worked perfectly in every App that I tried it with, but then I noticed something weird.

The image on the screen was back to front.

You don't really notice it when you're taking pictures of people and the like but I'm going to try to upload an image that will show you exactly what I mean.

If anybody has a clue about fixing this, I'd be very grateful to hear it.

If it makes a difference, my Mac is a Mac Mini from mid 2010 running OS X 10.9 and using Chrome as a web browser.

The only way that i know how to do it is within photobooth

 

If you want all future images to be correct left-to-right, you can use the Photo Booth > Edit > Auto Flip New Photos menu command.

Hi Steve, Further to Seedy's advice the image being back to front, or if you like a mirror image, may be something within the control panel perhaps if there is some controls for the camera? In the mean time I have found a support page that may be of some help, for that web cam here :-

If all else fails, at least just like a mirror, you will be able to comb your hair. :D

 

Try combing your hair with an ordinary camera where the image is the correct way round, and you will see what I mean. :D
