elfriniel Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Hi, I am a total non expert in pc things so please be kind. Whenever I watch a dvd, youtube video or anything like that, the sound runs out of sync with the picture. People have suggested uninstalling and reinstalling the graphics card drivers, which works for one use, then seems to go straight back to not working again. Can anyone suggest anything that might help? Quote

elfriniel Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 I dont have a make and model as my boyfriend built the computer for me. No yellow exc marks there but there is one on something called PCI simple communications controller...no idea if that is relevant to anything. Quote
Synapse Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 No yellow exc marks there but there is one on something called PCI simple communications controller...no idea if that is relevant to anything. Probably a dial up modem, nothing to do with your current issues. Quote
Plastic Nev Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Hi, The first thing to look at is the player, Youtube uses Adobe Flash player and if that is not up to date it could be the reason for out of sync playing, check for the latest version of Flash player and install it from here :- http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ If DVD's or other local video is still out of sync after that, check the player it uses for updating that as well. The PCI simple communications controller, click the arrow next to it then double click the item shown to see what exactly it is, just to confirm if it is a dial up modem or something else and let us know please. elfriniel Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 Good news, I worked out that the thing was Intel Management Intel Interface like that, my other half suggested getting the cd that came with the motherboard which told us to install some drivers. Did that and it seems to be working fine now, hopefully that will last. I dont think it was to do with Adobe or any other programme as it seemed to be happening with a lot of different sites and programmes. Thanks for the help, you guys are brilliant. Quote
Plastic Nev Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 OK thanks for the update and hope all is now OK. It would still be wise to update the flash player if it isn't up to date, as older versions, though still working OK can be less secure. Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems?
