I have never had any problems with viewing my statements on the Barclays Bank website but this week it's not allowing me to view it saying Barclays is not responding.

I get as far as putting in all of my details and click on view statement but nothing happens.

If I try on Google Chrome browser there is no problem but when I try with IE I can't get anywhere.

Is there a problem with IE or Barclays or something else.

Try this first:

 

Delete Cookies.

Open IE > Tools > Internet Options > Delete

Check "cookies" > Delete

 

It could be a corrupt cookie causing the problem and installing IE 11 would not solve this particular problem.

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

i am really sorry if it will be considered spam, but just stop using IE any version. despite any improvements IE always found a way to **** me off and using chrome really makes my life easier. and you said it yourself chrome doesn't cause you problems.

Try this first:

Thanks...have done as you asked but still no joy....the page that comes up for the statement info on Barclays website actually comes up in a different window but only the top headers are visible, nothing below ie. the bank statement info, that's just blank.

It's a mystery as to why this has happened as it has worked before and Chrome there's no problem.

Just to add, there was an IE update last night and it appears IE 11 has installed by itself.

You're not wrong.

I was wondering if there was a problem with the Barclays website as there was a problem a few weeks ago where customers couldn't get access....maybe they haven't quite sorted it out yet.

I had a very similar problem when I was suddenly unable to log into my Halifax account after putting in my username and password.

 

It drove me to distraction until, by chance, I updated Internet Explorer to the latest version and I now log-in without trouble.

Sorry still no luck....I don't have any problems getting on to the Barclays website, it's when I click on to LOG IN and a smaller window comes up and I put all my details in and press NEXT and then the smaller window freezes and the main statement doesn't load and come up.

 

When using Google Chrome a smaller window doesn't open, it stays on the bigger window, if you get my drift, not really sure how else to explain it....is there any way of opening it on IE without a new window opening as this seems where the problem lies. Thanks

I can't emulate your problem on my machine.

 

Try this:

Open IE > Tools > Internet Options > Tabs

There are options there.

You could try hitting the "Restore Defaults"

 

Not sure if this is going to help - but worth a try.

 

You asked about IE 11 earlier.

Now may be the time to try installing this.

Have done as you suggested by still no luck :(...have already installed IE 11 and it has made no difference.

When the new window on the Barclays site comes up to show statement it just says "Barclays is not responding"...then it says "recover website" so I click that but it just doesn't make any difference.

Yes I can still use Google Chrome with no problem, it's IE that has the problem it would appear...have tried as you said but still no luck.

Try adding Barclays to the trusted sites in IE.

https://bank.barclays.co.uk/

 

Open IE > Tools > Internet Options > Security > Trusted Sites > Sites

Add the above link to the trusted sites.

 

Check the Restricted Sites and make sure it is not listed there.

 

If this doesn't do it try "Reset all Zones to Default level" under the Security Tab.

Add the above link to the trusted sites.

 

Check the Restricted Sites and make sure it is not listed there.

Hi H2O give this a whirl this will reset all broswers and remove any junk if theres any there

 

 

 

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.

  • Close all open programs and internet browsers.
  • Double click on adwcleaner.exe to run the tool.
    Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator.
  • Click on the Scan button.
  • AdwCleaner will begin to scan your computer.
  • After the scan has finished...
  • Click on the Clean button.
  • Press OK when asked to close all programs and follow the onscreen prompts.
  • Press OK again to allow AdwCleaner to restart the computer and complete the removal process.
  • After rebooting, a logfile report (AdwCleaner[s0].txt) will open automatically.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that logfile in your next reply.
  • A copy of that logfile will also be saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder.
