Hi all, just swapped my ram, I had...

OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz/PC3-10666 Platinum i5 Memory Kit 1.65V CL7(7-7-7-20

And I have swapped it for

Kingston KHX1600C9D3K2/8G 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 DIMM Memory Module (Kit of 2)

I know the first one is faster (CL7) as oposed to CL9, but have I done the right thing, I use it a lot for gaming, thanks

You have gone from 2 x 2GB ..............to ..............2 x 4GB ...........is this correct ?

Whilst CL7 is marginally faster than CL9 you should see a significant difference by doubling the RAM.

This is always the best option if you want a faster machine - as long as you don't exceed the limit of the motherboard.

1600Mhz is faster than 1333Mhz.

Something else to watch is the operating voltage of the modules.

I am assuming that the voltage rating of the new RAM is 1.65v otherwise you would probably have had problems.

One more thing - 32 bit Operating Systems can only "see" 4GB RAM.

I assume yours is 64 bit ?

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
