Joelph Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Hello, as the title says, just bought a new gaming PC, but I get no picture from it to my monitor. I know it's not the monitor or cable itself, as I can connect my laptop to the monitor and it works fine, so it has to be the computer itself. I have a Radeon HD7770 graphics card connected, I assume that's the problem somehow... I tried removing it from the motherboard, and everything to try and boot the PC from the on-board graphics, but still nothing. I don't really know what else I can do, I'm pretty sure everything's connected properly, the Graphics card gets power and everything aswell, so I'm stumped. Can anyone help? Quote
KenB Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Hi and welcome to ExTS You have tried the monitor on the Card and the On-Board and you get nothing at all ?? Is that absolutely nothing ? No writing as it goes through the POST check .....? Nothing at all ? I know it's not the monitor or cable itself, as I can connect my laptop to the monitor and it works fine, This eliminates the monitor from the equation. Has this system ever worked since you bought it? If not - I suggest you contact the seller as it looks like it may be a PSU or motherboard problem. ( The fact that LEDs light up inside the case does not mean that the PSU is OK ) Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! ( The fact that LEDs light up inside the case does not mean that the PSU is OK ) Thanks for the Welcome :) Yes, I have tried the Card and on-board graphics, and nothing happens, something I perhaps should have added. When I connect the cables, it says 'D-Sub not found' or something along those lines. But when I remove the cable again, it says 'Signal lost' Would that mean that there IS actually a signal of some sort, but for some odd reason the picture is not getting through? But no, I get nothing, not a single thing, no picture, no nothing. Since I only got my monitor yesterday, no the computer has never worked for me before, all the stuff's brand new. I will contact the firm I bought it off of tommorow since the phone lines are down on weekend's, and try and get this figured out, there's a chance I overlooked something, although I don't think I have done. Yes, the PSU is working, LED's light up, and the fans in the graphics card spin as well. Quote
KenB Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 LED's light up, and the fans in the graphics card spin as well. This is not a guarantee that the PSU is OK - there are 3 different voltages 12v - 5v - 3.3v If one of them is low you get problems. D-Sub not found The D-Sub port is what we often refer to as the VGA port. Are you using this type of connection from the computer end ? http://www.eizo.com/global/library/basics/displayport_to_d-sub/03.jpg If you are using an adapter from a different type of output - it could be that that is at fault.
