ExTS Admin Starbuck Posted December 17, 2013 ExTS Admin Posted December 17, 2013 FileZilla Server is one of the first apps that will drop support for Windows XP, Microsoft’s 12-year-old operating system that will be retired in just a few months. The developing team behind FileZilla says that build number 0.9.42 is the last one to work on Windows XP, as the application will then support modern operating systems exclusively. At the same time, this new release comes to fix some bugs found in the existing versions, including “endless loop if a client closes a connection using the QUIT command while a speed limit was in effect on a low-latency connection,” the official release notes reveal. FileZilla Server remains one of the best choices for users looking for a powerful and reliable FTP server, with support currently being offered for all Windows versions on the market, be they 32- or 64-bit. Even though the update brings quite bad news for Windows XP users, it’s still important to install it, so download FileZilla Server 0.9.42 right now.
