nick Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Not sure if this is a virus but here goes. We bought a fineslate(?) tablet a few months ago. It's been ok up to now but i recently installed a few apps (nothing unusual)- Skype, Spotify and AVG (ironically). It seemed ok. But when i went to turn it back on i get this android robot eating jellybeans. Then when that goes and the main screen comes on it tells me everything is not working eg Google play, settings etc. It's very annoying. Once the million and one error messages stop coming up i can actually get onto the internet but the messages still contunue and i am not even able to get into settings to try and sort it out. Any ideas? nick Quote
KenB Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Hi Nick I assume this is Windows OS ?? Please take a look here and follow the instructions - click here [ ONLY if your OS is Windows ] Post the MBAM and OTL logs in your next post. They will not fit on one post so use 2 or 3 if necessary. One of the security experts here will take a look and advise you further. Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! nick Posted December 22, 2013 Author Posted December 22, 2013 i think it's Android 4.2.2 Jellybean OS. When we turn it on we now get this little android eating jellybeans. Its a lovely animation but its getting annoying now . What's MBAM & OTL? Scouring the internet it's hard to find anyone who is experiencing it. I think one of the error meassages we get is "process com.google.process.gapps" (i am not 100% though). But basically the advice for this is to go into Settings. But the problem we have is nothing works. Well we can get in the internet with it eventually. But if you click on something like settings it just says Settings does not work so we seem quite limited on how to fix it. Any ideas? nick Quote
KenB Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Hi Nick Android 4.2.2 Jellybean ................ I have no experience of this OS - sorry. What's MBAM & OTL? This is diagnostic software ..........but no use on your system. Let's hope somebody here can help you more than I can :) Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! Starbuck Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 (edited) Seems this tablet was originally designed to come with Android 4.0: Ice Cream Sandwich. Not all tablets/Smartphones will be compatible with Jelly Bean. Maybe this is the problem. Easy solution is to roll the tablet back to factory settings and get rid of the Jelly Bean update. Settings >> Personal >> Backup and Reset >> Personal Data >> Factory Data Reset. None of our diagnostic software will work on an Android OS. Edited December 22, 2013 by Starbuck Quote Member of:UNITE
