[Solved] cookie problem

my wifes windows 7 laptop has a new issue with cookies. when trying to log into her lottery account, she can't log in because of cookie issues.

she uses firefox so i suggested trying logging in with ie and the failed result repeated.

i went to the help section in mozilla and followed all of the instructions - all of boxes have already been ticked as recommended, and still it will not connect.

i have tried shutting down and restarting and all windows updates are ok.

error message: yellow triangle with exclamation mark in it stating an error has occoured. please check your browser settings to ensure it accepts cookies and then re-enter your user name and password to sign in.

Which browser are you using ?

 

Try clearing Cookies on your machine. (if Internet Explorer )

Can you try a different Browser - FireFox or other ?

she always uses the latest version of firefox. i just tried it again and cleared the browsing history data and restarted, but i still gives the same error message.

 

i tried it with ie and for some reason it now works - even before i tried the above suggestion!

When you did this did you clear cookies and cache too ?

i went and tried to check this and firefox would not open. constant egg-timer. closing it gives two options - close or wait to respond. all very, very slow but does eventually close.

i shutdown and restarted - no change. i then uninstalled firefox from control panel and re-installed it again.

after restarting i tried opening firefox again but it was just the same.

Download the free version of Revo-Uninstaller from here - click here

 

Run it and delete F-Fox using the "Moderate" option.

Then d/l F-Fox again and install it.

i already use revo and did as you suggested and the situation is still the same.

Can you check that F-F is set to accept cookies please ?

This should be the case by default.

i just got it working. i told it to never accept cookies from 3rd parties and then she was able to log in no problem.
